Palace and floor mosaics dating back to era of 5th and 6th Bc are due to be seen in the site where the mosaics of Amazon queens was discovered 2 years ago during the foundation works of Haleplibahce excavation project in Sanliurfa / Turkey .
The first phase of the works conducted by archeologists Hasan Karabulut and Dr. Mehmet Önal, under the direction of Nurten Aydemir , director of the museum of Sanliurfa, have commenced 4 months ago. In these excavations, the mosaics which depicts protector the goddess Ktisis and founder figure with measurement tool in his hand have been cleaned off and readied for the exposition to the visitors.
Pavement mosaics which depict the scene of the war training formation given to the one of the most important heroes of greek mthology ,Akhilleus, by the instructor Kheiron is partially discovered and revealed to the the surface. The area in which excavations are carried out is conceived to be declared as ARCHEOPARK. Mosaics found in Amazon Queens excavation site is believed to one of the most important findings in the history of human kind. |
